Description

This two day workshop will explore how to plan a unit.  In the beginning, we will discuss how to plan a summative assessment while answering the questions "What is our big goal so we can plan appropriately?" and "Is this appropriate for the proficiency level of our students?" Then, participants will find resources to use during the unit.  We will delve into how to plan both input and output activities that maximize the use of each resource and are also communicative.  We will wrap up with how to give feedback to students that is sustainable for teachers during the unit and post-assessment . Throughout the workshop, we will discuss second language acquisition principles that can inform teachers' decisions.  This workshop will also include practical examples that teachers can use during any unit.

TFLA's Cancellation Policy

We are so thankful for your interest in this TFLA event!   Because of costs associated with preparation for an event, TFLA is unable to process refunds within 30 days of the start of an event. In some cases, registration may be transferred to another individual. If there are extenuating circumstances that you feel we should consider, please email Kim Malcolm at executivedirector@tfla.org

For those who have registered but not fully paid, failure to cancel registration before the 30 days prior to an event serves as your commitment to pay. Failure to pay a registration fee within 30-days of an event, even if you do not attend, is considered a "late cancellation", and your account will have an outstanding bill. You may be blocked from registering for another event until that outstanding bill has been paid.
TFLA is a non-profit organization, here to serve LOTE educators in Texas. Thank you for your support!
